Aluminum rollers are widely used in low tension film industry as they have a white anodized surface with HV300 hardness, and a brown hard anodized surface with hardness of HV500-700 and a oxide film thickness of more than 0.1mm. This high hardness and wear resistance can greatly improve the life of the roller. These types of rollers are suitable for processing machinery for paper, textiles, metal foil and other products and help prevent the substrate from wrinkles during operation. Sandblasting or shot blasting the aluminum roller can create a rougher surface, commonly called a matte roller, which increases friction and is used mainly in the film manufacturing industry.
Hard chromium plating can be added to guide rollers, making them both harder and more corrosion-resistant while creating a surface roughness as low as Ra0.01(super mirror). This type of light chrome-plated aluminum roller can be applied to higher speed machines than the traditional chrome-plated steel roller. Finally, mirror aluminum rollers have a smooth surface and low resistance.
